Ketchikan is located on Revillagigedo Island, 90 miles north of Prince Rupert, British Columbia and 235 miles south of Juneau, Alaska.

Ketchikan's economy is based upon tourism and fishing, and the city is known as the "King Salmon Capital of the World." The Misty Fjords National Monument is one of Ketchikan's major attractions.

Average annual rainfall is 152 inches; annual average snowfall is 37 inches. The average high temperature in July is 57 degrees Fahrenheit , and the average high temperature in January is 33 degrees Fahrenheit .

Ketchikan is known for it's recreational opportunities that include: fishing, boating, hiking, wildlife viewing, camping, and some of the best sea kayaking in Alaska.
